India Ritchie: 1982, London. Lives and works in Devon. Completed a BA in Textile Design at Goldsmiths in 2005 specialising in printed textiles, before going on to study for a Masters degree in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art in 2007. Currently works as a lecturer in visual communication for undergraduate students studying for a correspondence degree in the arts.
My work explores notions of order and disorder within artistic practice as well as in everyday life. Accidental marks and unpredictable processes are a recurring element of my practice, and are often combined with notably deliberate and complex printmaking processes, with the aim of building a creative relationship between direct and indirect image making.
